Using the Space at the Foot of the Bed

Date posted: December 1, 2015

What do you do with that awkward space at the foot of your bed? Instead of letting it go to waste, make use of it. Here are your six basic options:

A Full Seating Area

If you have the room, why not enjoy a full seating area? Add a loveseat, chairs, footstools, and even a table. This will make your master bedroom extremely cozy. This is the perfect way to make your bedroom a tranquil oasis.

Simple Seating or Stools

You don’t have to have a lot of extra room to add some simple seating or stools to the foot of your bed. You can use it as a tray holder or a place to sit when you’re putting on your shoes in the morning. This small addition can add heaps of style to your room.

An Organizer

Give yourself a little more space to get organized with shelving. Not only is it practical, but it can look great, too. Whether you want to use it for clothing, shoes, purses, books, or random items, adding shelving to the end of the bed can add fabulous style points.

An Antique Chest

Add a little vintage charm to your bedroom with an antique chest at the foot of your bed. It’s also a great place for storage, but it looks stylish and elegant, too. Fill it with extra blankets or your most prized possessions. Either way, you’ll love the look of the chest in your bedroom.

A Desk

Get down to business by putting a desk at the foot of the bed. No matter if your style is cottage country, modern, or transitional, a desk will look fabulous and sophisticated. With a desk, you can make your bedroom your favorite, most versatile space in your home.

How have you used the space at the end of your bed?
