Did you grow up with a sleeping porch? Even though they’ve been used for over 100 years, they are actually still used – and loved! – today. Before air conditioning, sleeping porches allowed people to enjoy the coolness of the night without the threat or annoyance of bugs. Many times, children were the main ones to use sleeping porches during the hottest months of the year.
Sleeping porches are screened porches or porches with a ton of windows that can opened to let in the cool night breeze. Simple as that. And you could see their modern appeal, especially if you live in a more isolated area where you could really enjoy the view and the sounds of nature.
